Son Honors Memory of His Father’s Decatur Football Days

Charlie-May-Red-MayWalter “Red” May Played for the Decatur Staleys

The powerhouse lineman from Taylorville was recruited for the 1920 Decatur Staleys football team, the forerunner of the Chicago Bears, by Coach George Halas.

May’s son, Charles May of Decatur, never got a chance to meet his dad, but he never misses a chance to share memories about him, or the Chicago Bears.
